Architectual Design 1
Project 3
Space and Sensory
Individual assignment
Looking back at project 2 and deconstructing it into a sensory space. We will have to develop a tectonic structure and choose a dominant emotion. Then create a design intention base on project 2. Other than that we have to re-explore the relationships between structure and emotions. Our structure should also show an understanding of materials and explore spatial relationships while capturing the essence in a poetic way. Developing our ideas to generate a sensorial experience with a combination of things learned throughout the semester. We are to produce study models and orthographic drawings.
Reflection
This assignment honestly felt like a real experience at the beginning of my architecture journey. Making big models, cutting through thick grey boards, having all-nighters, etc but it was still an enjoyable process. I was really happy that I endured this even though it was hard while juggling time with other modules. When deconstructing project 2, I find it a bit hard to use it and create a narrative. My tutor, Ms. Shan she showed me how to view things differently, and how different forms and volumes can create different emotions. On the final review day, the external critiques were really kind and patient too, she also taught me many things from different perspectives and Tadao Ando. Showing how architecture can affect lives, and how to think differently. Lastly thanks to my peers that share ideas and critiques when I am out of idea.
