Project 2

Individual assignment

To allow students to undertake a research comparative analysis process on Modern Malaysian architecture practices throughout history through literature review and document analysis and present an appropriate chronological account of the Malaysian architecture based on the understanding gained through the analysis procedure.

SELF-REFLECTION

This module introduced me to many interesting facts from ancient to modern architecture lectures. How politics, society, and religions can change the evolution of architecture. The projects are based on many research and self-learning, and analyses of characteristics of different architecture. At the same time project 2, it trains us to sketch more as a practice instead of doing the work digitally. Something new in this module is that it introduces Blippar, an AR APP for students to keep up with the new age of technology.

Overall experience

The module is fully online. The tool used for online learning are TIMeS, Facebook, Teams, and Telegram. So it is really easy for students to be informed of the latest update. I feel that this module is more efficient to perform online as it requires lesser physical consultation with tutors so it saves time for both parties. As architecture students are very busy the pre-recorded lecture allows me to watch when I'm free. All of the documents and briefs are uploaded on all these platforms except for  Telegram so it is very convenient and accessible.

The lecturers and tutors are all really kind and helpful. As some of us have so many modules and submission deadlines so closed to each other, the module director was kind enough to give us extensions

( really really appreciate it ). They are also really friendly and patient when it comes to guiding and giving feedback.
